Get your medical needs met first.  Report any injury to your physicians, no matter how small it
might seem.   In most cases, your medical bills will be paid by your health insurance and/or your automobile insurance.   Accurate reporting of all injuries is crucial after being involved in an
auto accident.  

What should I not do when involved in an auto accident?

In almost all cases involving an automobile accident, you can apply and receive reimbursement for your lost wages.   Many times, the lost wages will come from your own automobile insurance company.   If you did not have automobile insurance, you may still be able to get wage loss reimbursement from another insurance company.

When can I expect a settlement?

I always tell my clients there will be no settlement until we know the extent of your injuries and
how those injuries will impact your future.   To obtain information about your injuries, I work
with your medical doctors.   Often, medical doctors will not know the extent of your recovery for 4 - 8 months from the date of your accident.    Once your injuries have stabilized and your
physicians can prognosticate future issues, I can attempt to resolve your case with the insurance company.    If the insurance company will not offer the compensation you are entitled, the next step is a lawsuit.
